I am also going during my long week off in June from the 10th to the 14th! Unless my wife has the baby 4 months early, we'll be there! Me, my wife, my son, and my other kid (in the belly)!

My big week off is July 8th through the 12th, so I'll be on the trail come rain or shine or dead of night or bears that eat through my soft top!
Still up for the June dates? If so, There will be at least SOME of my group attempting it.

I won't post more details here to avoid a hijack. If interested just PM me.

Has anyone heard how the trail is. I have heard that the snow is still to deep to get through. We are coming out the middle of July from Michigan. I really dont want to travel 2700 miles one way to find out that we cant run the trail. Any suggestions on other trails to check out while out there. We have our fingers crossed that the trail will be passable when we get there.

You'll be fine. The trail is cut to the springs as of now and I'd expect it will be through before the 4th of July.

With your rig you could run it right now! The trail is full of water and snow patches.

July 18 to 22nd?
Where are you planning to camp each day? If I'm up there for a day, I can run in to meet up and then run out.

Do you have a schedule yet?

Default In Sacramento and interested

I will likely be moving in August and would love to get in a trip to the Rubicon before I move away into Jeep hell.

What does a stock Rubicon JK need done prior to running this trail?
Iv'e heard of people doing it with 33's and open diffs so 32's and lockers should be good enough?

Does one need to make any reservations for camping?

Yours looks like a 2 door and a 2 door will have better luck in (close to) stock form. a stock 4 door would struggle. However, you will be slow going with dragging and spotting to avoid body damage. You can ask some of the people I ran with last week about their opinion of the easier part of the trail.

For my post, I'd plan a day trip in to buck island and back. That is a long haul but doable if you are comfortable with a good pace and limited spotting (meaning, just follow my lines) type of driving.

The trail can be run in about a half day in a well built rig.
