Rubicon Run
Yes. A lifted jeep is fine without doors.
If you plan to run in from loon: To get there from the Tahoe side head down Hwy50 towards Sacramento/Placerville. Turn right into crystal basin at Riverton. This is where the highway goes to two lanes each way and crosses the river. Drive about 38 miles and look for the loon lake turn off to your right. It's about 5 miles to the dam.
Get gas at silverfork, just past Kyburz. It will be on your left side as you head down.
Hope this helps!
Where do you plan to camp on the 19th? and where will you be heading between the 18th and 19th. This will help me see where I can run into your group.

Looking at possibly heading up to run the Rubicon on the 20th. Haven't run it before so I'm basically in the dark. Hows the snowpack looking? I know it basically ends at Lake Tahoe, will I need on planning on doubling back or is there access at the trail end? Whats a reasonable amout of time to run it? Any thoughts on taking an Adventure Trailer down it? Thanks, Jeff
Trail is all below 7000' so snow isn't bad. Plus there are lots of built rigs working to cross it this weekend.
The trail can be run in both directions and has various challenging parts based on which way you head. Doubling back isn't a problem other than traffic, especially on the weekends.
I've taken a trailer on the trail. It can be done. My trailer ran a pintel hitch and 35" tires. A trailer puts a lot more stress on your jeep's powertrain, especially on hills or on difficult, rocky sections. Just make sure you're prepared.

Got some contact info so thanks for that. It now looks like I'll have to be in SF on e 20th. Pending approval this week I will try for the 18th as a day run. I'll be in Denver most of this week but will still try to get a confirmation out.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Been busy prepping and getting ready to head west.
. We really dont have any camping spots picked out so we can stay wherever. Any suggestions? We hope to meet up with some groups out there. I will PM you and maybe we can exchange phone numbers to try and set up a meeting spot? Thoughts?
