Most people around here think that its going to be another couple years with a extremely slow recovery for the real estate game here.

I was going to say, housing might be reasonable in Bend right now, but "jobs" are scarce....so working for the Post Office is awesome!

I was born and raised in Portland and my folks live in Bend, so I'm there every couple months.....for me, there's no place I'd rather be then Bend, OR.

Like mentioned above....trails, fly fishing, snowboarding, mountains, lakes, rivers, cool town and great local beer! Deschutes, 10 Barrel, Cascade Brewing, Bend Brewing Co, etc. Sh.t, I just made myself thirsty too. I'd go for a pint of District 10 right about now!

I'm just hoping I can transfer. With all the things going on in the postal service right now I don't know what's going to happen. But if I can find someone there that wants to move to So Cal, we can just swap routes. My wife just got her teaching credential so she will be looking for a teaching job. We are pretty outdoorsy people so Bend is perfect! Oh yeah, and definitely good beer!

I am just over the hills from Bend on the west side of the Cascades. I did some work over there a couple years ago and enjoyed the area. My grandma used to live in the Madras area, so we visited the area often. I doubt I would move there over this side of the mountains, but I will visit. Plus there are some great motorcycle roads on the east side that call my name during the summer months

Nice! I have a FZ1 and it is tired of rainy commute duty. It wants to remember what 4th 5th and 6th gears feel like.

Those are sweet bikes. If you're close to Oregon City let's get together one of these days - I'm down to a few friends that ride, they've all had to sell theirs

You all would leave me in the dust. I'm a Harley guy so I just cruise. I'm afraid I would kill myself on a crotch rocket.
