I grew up in Bend. My folks still live there.

I love that place and miss it often. Bend just got rated the #1 city in the united states for sportsman by Outdoor life Mag.

I read someplace that they were planning on putting a university on the south side of Bend. I don't know if it is really happening but if it does the population will explode. I hope it doesn't change too much because I like it as is. I actually first read about Bend in Outdoors Magazine. It was rated one of the top ten healthiest cities in the US.

Not sure about a university coming in but we have the community college here that is growing every year, and there is a Oregon State University branch over here too.

absolutely its a great place for kids with all of the outdoor options, and a bunch of indoor places too. The schools are pretty good from what we hear but have not had to deal with that yet so can't say for sure.

Congrats! I've been down there several times this summer fly fishing, golfing and wheeling the high desert. I'm envious that you can actually get work there!

Nice! If everything goes well we'll have to meet up and do some wheelin'.
