Superchips Flashpaq for JK, Initial Impressions
I got mine 4 weeks ago.
Found out it is pinging even if it is not audible. It was check with the Flashpaq.
Others is getting fed up and sell it or use it as paper weight BUT I will stick around and hope that they get this sorted so that I can experience the remarkable improvement in drive-ability and mpg that I experienced while it was pinging.
It looks like the pinging is related to the higher temperature in my area.

Just installed mine today, runnin 37's, 5.13's. Noticed a better throttle response right off the bat. Improved shifting and seems to hold overdrive easier than before. Just the 87 tune right now, will update as I change tunes. Initial response? Worth what I paid for it for the improvement I have already. If you do tow tune, do you run higher octane?

Tow is meant to improve the performance of your vehicle by offering additional HP, TQ and drivability improvements while allowing you to retain features equipped in the vehicle like OD on/off and tow haul.
It is not meant to substitute the OD off button unless you purchase and download the advanced trans tuning feature that allows you to customize the transmission with either an OD on or OD off feature.

God help me, I've just gone through the first 50 pages of this thread, so I'm SORRY if I haven't gotten to this question yet on the thread, but here it is...
Having purchased my Flashpaq, upgraded the firmware, and loaded it up on the JK, I spent the last three hours playing with settings... well, that, and going through 220 pages worth of the "girls and Jeeps" thread (sweet mother of god) too, I'm left with a few questions.
I'm sure my neighbors appreciated it that I chose to time 0-60 runs on the back road by my house at midnight, but I DID do a few, and here's what I came up with...
2010 JK Sahara Unlimited Automatic, with front Freedom Panels off and rear windows down...
- 9.62 0-60 running 93 octane on the 93 octane setting
- 10.24 0-60 running 93 octane on the Tow setting
- 10.46 0-60 running 93 octane on the 91 octane setting
- 11.11 0-60 running 93 octane on the 87 octane setting
- 11.25 0-60 running 93 octane on the STOCK setting
QUESTION: Is the Tow setting meant to supersede turning OD off? In other words, if I'm legitimately towing, and I have the Flashpaq set to the Tow setting, do I still need to turn OD off? What was Superchips' intent here? Normally when towing, I would turn the OD off via the pushbutton.

Here is what your $40 gets you:
Superchips Advanced trans Tuning
Manually adjustable Shift Schedules (Length of shift + or - from one gear to another)
• Individual gear shift schedule adjustments (up and down)
• OD off shift schedules *
• Low (4-Lo)*
* If equipped
Shifts are determined by two parameters:
1. MPH = user adjustable
2. Pedal Percentages (partial pedal pressure all the way up to WOT)
You basically have full control of your transmissions shift points.

Again, while I don't have an automatic transmission on my JK, I do have one on my Hemi Dodge Ram and I've followed pretty close what the beta testers and retail version end users have had to say about it. It's nothing short of glowing reviews and based on the length of that conversation, we haven't began to approach it's attributes on this forum.
Maybe Scott can hook a few users up with a free upgrade so there can at least be some better dialog about the feature.
I'm running the 91 Octane program right now while running 93 octane, and so far I've not really gone over 60 in my JK until just now. Annoying observation... It seems the shift pattern is, I don't know, for lack of better words, ridiculous. Pedal to the floor, when I hit 75 (and yes, I KNOW I shouldn't be going any faster than that) the trans downshifts and the power is all but gone, and the climb to 100 is SLLLOW.
Do tell.
Do tell.

You can see how much additional power is actually required to sustain higher speeds, and if you compare this with a dyno chart, there are certainly points with a given drive ratio where a downshift would be required to produce the needed power.
I can most certainly work on that approach and I appreciate the idea.
Those interested can PM me some data about their experience with providing technical data and ability to understand the specifics of the product and it's features.
If I can get a few tech saavy users willing to dedicate to this project and managenets approval towards it we might have somethign here.
