Building a front axle.
I did all the prep labor. I gave my buddy $150 for the welding and I gave Bob Myer $250 so I could have a straight housing. You'll have to check with Meyer Engineering in El Cajon for a quote. His sticking point is giving him a clean & empty housing to work on
the end result was worth it
So now I have a Rubi Dana 44 E locker 5:13 gears,Poly ball joints, Nemisis lower shock moounts and it's as strong as a 44 can be
I also installed new Ujoints(spot welded the caps) in the axle and when funds are available I'll put in alloy axles with full circle clips
It was a lot of fun/work
the end result was worth it
also after trussing/C's I didn't see the benefit to sleeve it

I'm still on lowly "Bilstein 5100's"
Yeah, I'm getting the crap beat out of me right now. 60,000 miles on the factory shock and they feeling like solid poles right now. Plan on making a run to Mammoth New years and have to air down to 26 psi to get a nice ride right now.
So, is Sgt. Mack over there welding things up as we speak?
