give me earthquakes anytime over tornadoes....that is one of the reasons my family moved here

No kidding. We were getting hit pretty bad out in Memphis, spent much time in the storm closet. Too random and unpredictable...

exactlly!!! one 2 story farm house completely obliterated in ohio was enough for us.

Boy do I remember the duck and cover drills in grade school (near Chicago)... but at least tornados can have warning...

I have lived in So Cal my whole life so I have seen my share of quakes. I was in acting school when Northridge hit and I remember it scaring the Hell out of my GF who was from Kansas.

I have never been in a tornado, or even a warning, (seen a few water spouts at sea) but she said she would take a tornado any day. We broke up before I could spend an entire Summer in Kansas.

I've been in a hurricane and tornados, I would take them over any earthquake. At least you have some notice of what is coming.
