Am I a nut? I read the first post in this thread just today when I got home from work. I then filled up the Jeep, went to the market and picked up some canned goods, water, juice, soups, band aids, and extra dog food. Then I filled the DuraMax with fuel, filled my generator, got an extra 5 gallons of gas, filled an extra 5 gallon water jug, made sure my portable toolbox was full of essentials, and got the Jeep towbar out. I hate earthquakes.

Oh, I also filled the gun with ammo!

I always have a complete emergency/survival kit packed and ready to go. Two actually; one for 'shelter at home' and one go-bag. After having had to use it several times, I wouldn't dare be without it.

I dont care what other people think about me being crazy
The fact is, if we do
have a big ass earthquake, you will be looking pretty smart. Then you will need that loaded firearm to keep the vermin that would rather take your supplies than prepare on their own.

Bottom line is, it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Plus, all of that stuff will be used whether there is a disaster or not.
