The noise isn't a problem but I would like to cut down on the drag a little

Default Quick Disconnects are in

These are pretty cool, they mount to the front and back of the light bar and they have a lip that catches the rack when you disconnect (bottom of the first picture). I ended up snapping a bolt though but I am sure Gobi will be quick to fix. The bolts that go through the light bar are welded on and then rubber coating is applied over the whole thing. Very well thought out. They also supplied the strap that connects to the light bar and the rack so you can tilt back without it snapping off the license plate or the need to lean on the tire.

back where it locks the rack to the light bar

Front where it bolts to light bar

Didn't get mine yet. Must be on the slow truck...

I'm a little concerned that I might have to relocate some wiring or my home brew air deflector but I can't really tell from these pics. I guess I'll have to wait and see. It does look well designed though!

Don't feel bad. I still have not gotten mine yet either.

Just got off the phone with Gobi, no need to bear down on the bolts as once they are snug against the washers, it is tight enough. Tighten too far and the stainless will twist off like mine did.

Just a FYI in the event you are all surprised with deliveries today.

Default More Gobi Rack Questions

Thanks for all the great Q&A in this forum regarding the Gobi rack. Still a few outstanding questions. When you go to the Alpha Expeditions site is unclear where to buy the ladder add on? Also, which lights should you get and where (obviously this depends on stealth vs. ranger)? My wife and I are close to pulling the trigger on getting one of these but just need to get those questions answered first before we take the plunge.

Oh, one more thing. I've seen a few Gobis with farings installed. Is that something that can be purchased now?

Sorry. I am still adding more product options for the Gobi rack under my site.

The ladder right now is FREE with purchase of the rack.

The JK rack fairing is still under development won't be available til fall.

If you have any questions regarding the type of light you may be interested. please feel free to contact me at dtung@alphaexpedition.com . Generally you can reach me 7 days a week 10am-11pm pst unless I am out wheelin. or decide to take a quick nap

Looking forward to answer any other questions or concerns you may have.
