Anyway, I got some use out of my rack over labor day weekend. it was pretty tame so i dont have any awesome action shots, but at least it is outside, and i havent seen too many pics of the 2 door rack, so y'all can check it out here:

the rack is super sturdy and ive gotten quite a few compliments on its appearance.
Nice set up - I just got mine on my 2 door as well. Pics soon.

The Gobi rack does not bolt into body in unexisting holes does it. I didnt think it did but a few pics above looks as if it does now. I thought it went into the windshield mount then into frame under bumper but a few look like a mount near taillights and rear fender.

Thanks

It does not require any new holes. In the rear, it has a fairly unique clamp type arrangement that attaches to the pinch seam on the body, then the higher mount points that you see in the pics are just little stabilizers with bumpers on the ends -- they ride against small metal disks that are stuck to the body, they do not go through it.

The front of the Gobi mounts to existing holes on the A pillar. The back of the Gobi mounts using supports that come off of the frame and pinch seam. You do not have to drill anything into the jeep to mount the Gobi.

Default Finally Took The Plunge

Went camping in our JK for the first time last weekend (Green Ridge Forrest). It was also our first time wheeling. Basic trail but still excited for a new Jeep owner (and having the wife and daughters in the car).

We got motivated to get our kayaks out camping with us so we pulled the trigger on getting the rack. I'll post some pics as well once we do the install. Thanks for the good posts and questions on this rack.
