Default Am I the first to have a failure?

Put my quick disco on as soon as it was released last fall...

Flipped back the rack for the first time last weekend and the large black knobs disintigrated in my hands. May have been the winter cold that weakened them, maybe the UV (although in 7 months?), but in any case, I'm going to need vise grips to get it off the next time.

David - any chance of getting a set of spares from Gobi? That will be a short term solution though as I expect the same thing to happen again - maybe there's a marine version that would stand up better - going to go over to West Marine and check it out...

mine did the same thing!! I lost 3 of them 2 on the quick disco - and 1 on the sun roof insert.

Don't bother waiting for Gobi to send replacements...

Go over to Lowe's or Home Depot and get some Stainless 3/8" #16 (course thread) wing nuts and they fit right up. Shouldn't need to worry about them breaking anymore...

Did you find an acceptable replacement? I haven't had any luck yet.

My fingers have been abused over time - hard to get a grip on the wing nuts?

Rack has been on almost a week!! Love! Love! Love! it.
Thanks Dave.
Have already been out using it as a platform for doing some spring wild flower photograph. It works just great. Thanks for the earlier photos and feedback on it's use as such.
Have ordered the wind foil, but noise with the hard top on is not to bad.
Thanks again.
