Anyone know the difference (if any)?
Same speakers? Brand/model?

If these Kickers are the same as the ones I listened to in a local Best Buy, they sound OK. A little tinny, but overall not bad and better than most. They're my second choice behind Alpine component speakers.

Head units and amps make all the difference in the world! Most HU's have seriously mad power compared to those of years past, so you don't "need" an amp. However, even if the amp is the same wattage as the HU, you'll get much cleaner sound and the availabilty to segregate various tones to each set of speakers, such as keep the bass out of the dash speakers. This will clear up the sound and keep your speakers from rattling and overworking.

Has anyone tried a HU with the pop out motorized screen? I like the idea since I have a TJ and get a double DIN in my dash, but they just seem like they may be flimsy for a Jeep.

I think $140 for $45 speakers is a little bit much. So they come "pre-wired" and mounting plates. MANY people here have changed out the stock speakers and have not needed adapter plates ....

Just buy some better quality 6.5's ... hell if you need to buy a soldering gun ... install em and still save $50.

Wink SAVE your $$$$$

Gentleman hasn't anyone heard of Crutchfield before??? Simply go to their site type in your vehicle and it displays exactly what speakers will and won't fit where...it even states soundbar and dash....they're both 6 1/2's by the way, although not all brands fit. Crutchfield even offers free wiring and brackets...I just ordered 2 sets of Polks for both the dash and sound bar for $10 more than the Kickers! The polks are by far better quality speakers and had free shipping to boot.

I am in no way affiliated with Crutchfield...just trying to save my fellow Jker's a buck!

I took a close look at the ones on Quadratec and the ones at the moparsupercenter for $81.... I think they are different speakers. The specs don't quiet match and they look more than a little different. I would love to be proved wrong, $81 is still less that $140 no matter how bad liberals have screwed up the schools.
