Here is the most current info on the Tuffy JK Security Console. Our JK will be back by the middle of the week which will allow us to fit everything and do a little testing. Here is the info I got from our product designer:

Jeff,

Here is an illustration of the JK full console prototype. It is taller with the pad extending forward more than the original. There is a stereo/CB mounting bracket inside with an exterior hole for the Mic, larger drink holders, multiple flat switch mounting surfaces, interior removable tray, interior power outlet, larger storage tray on the automatic models, Pry-Guard II locking system, Larger storage area, Factory colors, and is estimated to be around the price of an 067 maybe a bit more. No heating or cooling system is built in but a handy Jeep owner may be able to rig a thermoelectric (Peltier) cooling/heating device to work. These are available on EBay for relatively cheap but we have not done any testing so far and have no idea if it would actually work on the drink holder. We may pursue that as an option in the future. Also, we have another design where the stereo/CB is in a separate compartment but the large armrest would need to be much smaller and would barely be usable so we opted for the interior mounting bracket instead.

Hopefully this will not reveal to much proprietary design information to any knock-off companies like Smitty****t or IVa**t but it appears they do not have an R&D department anyway and will need to wait till ours is available on the market so they can get one and make a flimsy scaled down copy overseas and try and pass it off as an actual security product.

Hmmm... any idea how much smaller the storage area on the Manual transmission will be? I'm intrigued by the power port too! Cant wait to see it!

Looks pretty solid! Can you give a frame of reference on how high up that armrest is in comparison to the stock one? Definitely interested in seeing the finished product, safe bet that I'll be grabbing one.

Also very interested in a mygig 'cover', look forward to hearing more from you on that!

The lockable storage area will be the same whether it is an automatic or manual. It is just the outside storage tray that will be smaller on the manual version.

It looks like the armrest will be about 2.5" higher than the factory model.

Will keep you updated on the mygig security cover.

Thanks

Yeah, we will probably do that, but we want to test in our own vehicle for a bit and work out any bugs. We will put together something in a couple of weeks regarding the test program
