Default Another Tuffy console update

We just finished manufacturing prototype #2 and will be working on the install today to make sure that the changes from prototype #1 fix all of the minor fit issues. We know this has been going on for a long time, but please understand that we do all of our own R&D work. Every curve, bend and weld has to be figured out on a drawing and then we have to figure out how to cost effectively manufacture the part on a quantity basis. We don't have the benefit of taking someone else's work and copying it. Good news is the console really is close now. If this 2nd prototype looks good, we will be ready to go into production. Pictures shortly!!

Dont make it too good, I just installed your other one. I think it's great but if a better one comes out a month later.

Default Tuffy console update 5/6/08

The "final" version is in the oven being powder coated right now. It will be installed tomorrow and ready for pics. We are now prepared to produce the first small run of the consoles. Pricing has not been finalized but manufacturing times and materials are very similar to the Tuffy TJ Speaker/Stereo console which retails at $413. Expect this console to be in the same ball park.

We will now officially take names for (2) "testers" as mentioned earlier in this post. We need one JK with automatic transmission and one JK with manual transmission. One console will be Medium Khaki and one will be Dark Slate. Please PM me with:

1.)contact info
2.)transmission type
3.)interior color
4.)rear power window switches? Yes or no
5.)Will you be mounting a CB or Stereo in the console? Yes or no

We will take names until 12:00 a.m. Mountain time on Friday 5/9/08.

Those that have already PM'd me, please do so again with the required info to be officially entered into the process.

One request that we have is that comments, recommendations, issues, etc. by the reviewers be directed to Tuffy first to give us a chance to respond before posting to the masses. Since these posts are semi-permanent, we would hate to have a new product killed right from the start without a chance to evaluate the product.

Thanks
Jeff Fox

Just got home. I think the odds are better with an automatic though. Seems like most of the people following this thread have 6 speeds.
