1. Taller armrest
2. More storage, but keep it organized (possibly a tray in the center area, or a compartment between the main storage area and arm rest)
3. i-Pod storage
4. large cupholders, front and back, prefereably with a removable line in case of spills
5. Needs to match factory colors including arm rest (I don't want it to stick out like a sore thumb)
6. A location for a CB

Cool. Now, do you take trade-ins for the insert when the full console ships...?

Thanks,

Jeff

On the Sebring a can of soda stays cold. It routes the air condtioning around it or something. On older Toytas where the cup holders pulled out below the vents and the can sat in the air conditioning blast, a soda can stayed cold most of the day.

Can't say about hot, I don't drink hot.

Lightbulb Optional!!!

I would like the taller armrest action to be an option, as I have the 6-speed and my arm almost hits the stock console box and I like shifting uninhibited (sp) so the higher armrest is a turn off for me...

But make sure the lid has a gasket of some sort, and maybe a little spout at the bottom corner so if my bonehead friend spills a soda in it I can just open a drain and watch it go out the holes in my Jeep.

And just an idea, maybe some sort of mini handle or a grab bar on the passengers side, so my girl or my bonehead friends don't feel like they are "falling out"..... It's called a saftey belt man..... But just something close to the front end of the seat in the unlikely event of a roll-over they can grab something and keep an arm or leg or thier entire body from falling out of a doorless Jeep.

as for the cupholders, an ajustable strap to tie down a big drink so it doesn't bounce its self free all over me.... or into my console.

And maybe a net of some kind in the back for storing random bits of whatever... Just my .02

Your stuff rocks, thanks for letting us give ideas for a consle we get to use in the future!!

Kudos to Tuffy for actually asking users what they want!!!!

Here's my vote:
  • Switch panel in that replaces the lowest plastic cover in the center tower
  • Space to run a 1" to 1.5" flex hose for bringing heat to the rear (owner installed)
  • Hinges on front and rear of lid (so I can open the console from the back seat)
  • Small flat (or angled forward) space to mount LEDs that shine on cup holders (can't see the darn things at night)
  • RAISE THE ARM REST MUCHO!! Making this optional so the height increase is substantial is best
  • USE FACTORY SEAT CLOTH FOR ARM PAD - The shiny black vinyl just does go with today's Jeeps
  • Rear cup holders - gotta have 'em
  • Please make sure there are no sharp corners that will wack my thigh during side-to-side swaying off road
  • Keep the cost reasonable - it's just folded sheet metal after all (I'm not sure why other mfgs think they can charge extra just because it's for a JK)
  • Thanks again for caring (geez, I feel all warm and fuzzy inside...)

Yes, I'm a big fan of color matched, higher armrest but my personal opinion is you should make the console inside as plain as possible. I don't want any change holder or ipod holder or cb holder or anything. If I want something mounted in there, then I'll mount it. That would be the ultimate for me. Also, no cup holders or anything for the rear would be my preferance on a 2dr model. Or make it to where its modular. I'd rather put a plate for electrical inverter or something else there. I plan on tossing my rear seat so no need for cup holders.

Bottom line is I want it as secure and plain (on the inside) as possible. On the outside, color match and higher/better armrest would be perfect. That's my 2cents.

definetly color match the console

I would also like a padded armrest

What would be ideal is if the lock cylinder could be rekeyed to match the key we all already have for the ignition.

I completely agree. The vinyl is a deal breaker for me.

Default Velcro Baby!!!

A secure place to store my PISTOL!!!

-I think you should have the sides coated with heavy duty loop material used in Velcro and make accessories with the hook material... that would be a novel idea. Need a coin holder??... stick it wherever you want inside. Same goes for holsters, Ipod holders, Glasses case, nets, pockets, dividers... the list is endless. Same concept used in many of today's gun and laptop cases. You could come up with a whole line of accessories with this design.

-optional 12v power outlet on the back and inside.

-optional LED lighting... some inside and one on the front of the console to light up the cup holder section (MINI does this).

-Ability to disconnect the rear cupholder for cleaning and to provide more foot room for the middle-rear passenger.

-optional false bottom for valuables or firearm.
