I'm sorry... There is some minor cutting that is needed but can be set back to stock if needed. No way around this part. What I was saying was that there is no cutting of the firewall.

Looks like maybe the cowling in front of the windshield.

As soon as we are finalized and into production I'll let you know... If you guys are still your heads than maybe, just maybe our fellow manufactures are as well.

They are smart guys so anything we can do to keep it under cover the better.

Sorry.

Understandable, you want credit for your design and rewards for your efforts. Hopefully this will kill any future flame war on a cowl air intake, like there is for dual rate sway bars and disconnects. Look those up, its funny how vehement people can be.
Just thought I would add that I have not seen any other manufacturer made jeep cowl intakes, there are homemade ones out there, so look at it like beer, macrobrews (Bud brewery) and microbrews(your garage).

Wildboar has one available, but doesn't look as good as RR in my opinion. Still waiting on RR's to become available!

Saw their spy shoots some time after I started to work on the design... Both saw the need to resolve the issue. Do not know how theirs is routed. I hope there will be enough differences that people will know that they were developed independently of one another.... Kind of like Dolphins and Sharks... Same basic shape filling the same need.

I'll be honest and say that I have wondered how they routed the intake after the cowl...??? I'm sure they are thinking the same thing on our end.

I do think the modular aspect is something that is truly a Rugged Ridge exclusive.
Along with the request made by you guys.

Ya, I saw their version before I found this thread and thought it was interesting and maybe worth considering depending on price. Then I saw the RR modular concept and decided to wait..... Regardless. This, in my opinion, is the best looking design. Not to mention that it is flexible to suit different needs. I have quite a lot of RR products on my JK and am happy with the quality, I can only guess that this would be the same
