What would you like in a snorkel design?

Sounds like you are saying that this won't be possible at all though.
No, Nothing is impossible. It's your JK. From a liability stand point we are unable. If I told you yes and somehow your $5,000 charger went bad who do you think would be getting the first call after Ripp told you that it was not covered under warranty...

Our inlet point is tied into the stock air filter location so it could be made to work with some effort. With that said we will be putting declaimers stating the use with stock aspiration systems only.

Sorry.... To me the two systems are just not compatible. I can understand the desire but know the limitations.

Fair enough! Thanks for the quick and accurate responses. Either way, I love the look, design, and thought that went into RR's new snorkel. Great Job!

[QUOTE=Rugged_Ridge;2147479]Currently we will be pricing this out with the low intake as standard. The options to date are:

(1) high intake with Ram
(2) Prefilter alone - for use with high intake
(3) Prefilter low - Comes with mounting base and filter.

what pic shows the prefilter? what is that? what does that mean?

The pre-filter low mount will be a secondary part. Meaning we will start development of it after the completion of the main design. The pre-filter will mount to the standard high mount as shown....

PLEASE no comments about the size if the high intake... This has been reworked and has been made more proportional to the rest of the system.

At this time the pre-filter will be a sourced item but we may look into developing our own version if we see a need.

I understand your point and am in agreement that the snorkel is incompatible with the RIPP SC under normal day to day driving conditions. However, for those of us who do wheel off-road in muddy and/or wet conditions, some form of adapter allowing the use of a snorkel with a RIPP is essential.

Dumb question. The normal filter is still present in the engine correct? If so, what is the purpose of the additional pre-filter? Just to knock out more dust and debris before it hits the normal filter? Any performance changes with a pre-filter?

Correct... Not that we have noticed...

It produced a cyclone that forces larger dust and sand to the outside but does not block the air flow.

In this discussion yes "Ram" just means pointing forward.
