Default Dealer fixed my soft top leak....

So yesterday it is raining big time all day. I am in sales and spend the day in my Jeep.....getting tired of getting soaked I stop by the dealer to give them shit. They tell me they have figuired out the leak.

They took a washer and placed it under each of the 2 bolts that are hand screwed down on the door surrounds....no more leak. Dealer said that this puts just a bit more pressure on the door frame and the top to create a better seal....I drove the rest of the day and stayed dry....

Hope it helps you all out.....

Do the washers go between the pin and the door surround, or do they go between the roll bar and the door surround?

How thick are the washers? Did they use metal or rubber?

Thanks for the help. Please post pics if possible.
Used 1/16 inch thick plastic or nylon washers between the door surround and the roll bar, one for each pin. I guess it lifts the rail just a bit into the door seal?

But I do know I was dry after they put them in

they tried that with mine... worked for about 2 weeks. I used Marine grade weather stripping between the top and door surround and in the corner of the door frame and have been bone dry for a month

Thanks Balt... was your leak just at the corner? I am going to try this fix. I gave up on my dealership. Got tired of the foam kits and leak seems to just get worse. I will let you know if it fixes mine.

Greemamp... can you post a pic of your self-fix?

Thanks,
Vince
