Dealer trouble... Could use some opinions.
Sorry accidently hit send they will fu on just about anything they can...in your case they are most likely looking for you to settle on something because they can't get what you want.
I have a friend who owns a dealership and yes he has told me some disturbing things. Luckily I have been his friend since pre-school so I know he won't screw me....even then I still check prices just to keephim honest haha

My last Jeep purchase was sorta similar. I wanted a black on black cloth rubicon. Called a dealership several hours away. They said, yup. Got one. So I drove three hours to the dealership. They had a red Sahara and a green sport. That was it. I said where is the black one? Oh. We don't have it yet. Hah. I said we'll let's make a deal on it. So we negotiated a cash price of 32000. The. They said it will be there in two days. I went to go get it. Not there. I said we'll let's sign the papers on it and they can deliver it to my house. The next day, they show up with a black on brown rubi. I directly said black on black. Not brown. So I sent them away. Two days later. They said they have one. It's everything I wanted. Ugh hmmmmm. BOUGHT! So I drive there. Again. And see this very new shiny Sahara. I was pissed. I said let's just shred the papers and ill just go somewhere else. They let me get all the way to my car before running out. They said they have to sell me this jeep. The dealer traded for it. Lol. I said nope. They said what will it take. I looked at the window sticker, $38000. Told them I'd pay $30,000 flat. That's it. No more. I didn't want a Sahara. They said. Ok. So then I started the Sahara and left.
I didn't want painted tops and fenders. Nor did I want
Bluetooth nav and airbags in my seats. Nor did I want leather. Nor did I want , you get the picture.
Use the hassles to get a good deal.

When I got my first one they found what I was looking for, told me how long it 'should' take and explained that they either had to trade a vehicle to the other dealer or buy it. They then told me where it was located (two and a half hours south in San Diego). I only waited 3 days and two were over the weekend. It would have taken another week and a half for them to put it on a truck so I had them drive it up. I was concerned with the dealer in possession selling it locally - didn't want to take a chance and wasn't charged a dime more for their guy to drive down with their trade vehicle and drive mine back. Oh and got a new hard top Rubi for less than $30,000.
Just realize they do have to negotiate a deal with the other dealer and swap something of value so it may not happen as fast as expected - or the originating dealer may sell it before transport occurs and your dealer may be scrambling to find another one.

You need to make one statement to the Sales Manager "I want my money back". Asking for your money back and you will see how motivated they are to get you a new jeep then. There is no way it should take that long to get a jeep from another dealer unless they can't find one. GET YOUR MONEY BACK first and foremost. Like a lot of folks have said already, they play this game for a living. That "Sales Manager" didn't get in that position by being a nice guy not trying to figure out the best way to screw someone. Take the upper hand and get your money back at the least and then start asking questions. Do not settle for anything but what you want, you've already waited this long

EDIT: So he just called to say it's in a distribution lot on Annacis island here in Vancouver, he claims he will send me the VIN first thing tomorrow morning. I guess we'll have to see, but as of now that's where we stand. New date it arrives at the dealer is supposedly Monday morning. If it doesn't show then i'm done.
I do have to agree,
