Diff. Fluid Change Question
I am about to do this on my JK this weekend. Do I need to add the LSD additive to this as well or just the Mobil 1. I'm using 75/90 full synthetic. I know on the web site it says "compatible" with most LSD's. I'm sure the Trac-loc in the D44 rear is compatible. I don't want to ruin the clutches I guess. Can't afford a new locker system right now.

The MOPAR stuff is synthetic only if it says "synthetic" on the bottle.
Initially, they come with Mopart Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5), which is a general purpose GL-5 gear oil. I don't believe it says synthetic on those bottles.
This is what the manual says for 09.
Axle Differential (Front) MOPAR Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5) or equivalent.
Axle Differential (Rear) 226 RBI (Model 44) - MOPAR Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API
GL-5) or equivalent. For trailer towing, use MOPAR Synthetic Gear & Axle
Lubricant (SAE 75W-140) or equivalent. Models equipped with Trac-Lok™
require an additive.
I think the 07 was different. I think it said 44s had the synth in it and the towing statement wasn't there. I will have to check. Maybe I'm remembering my TJ/LJ info.

Two people in this thread have said the original stuff in the diffs is synthetic. Could be, but I would have to see the bottle to believe it.
