Default Diff. Fluid Change Question

I am about to change my diff. fluid and Im switching to synthetic. (Mobil 1)

My question is, will I have to stick with synthetic from here on out?

No but why would you want to change back?

Can't afford a new locker system right now.
Great write up. http://project-jk.com/jeep-jk-write-...hange-write-up

Because in case my diff goes under warranty the dealer is going to put the regular stuff back in.

If the Mopar is synthetic why does it require a LSD additive?

Also anyone know why its costs so much more than say the mobil 1?

Two people in this thread have said the original stuff in the diffs is synthetic. Could be, but I would have to see the bottle to believe it.

The MOPAR stuff is synthetic only if it says "synthetic" on the bottle.
Initially, they come with Mopart Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5), which is a general purpose GL-5 gear oil. I don't believe it says synthetic on those bottles.

This is what the manual says for 09.

Axle Differential (Front) MOPAR Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API GL-5) or equivalent.
Axle Differential (Rear) 226 RBI (Model 44) - MOPAR Gear & Axle Lubricant (SAE 80W-90) (API
GL-5) or equivalent. For trailer towing, use MOPAR Synthetic Gear & Axle
Lubricant (SAE 75W-140) or equivalent. Models equipped with Trac-Lok™
require an additive.

I think the 07 was different. I think it said 44s had the synth in it and the towing statement wasn't there. I will have to check. Maybe I'm remembering my TJ/LJ info.
