One thing I think with the revised latch it may work for a short time like the factory ones did but after time it will begin to wear down and then the noise is back. On mine I can tell wear the doors rub on the latch and I can even see that it now a little thinner. Once I put the tape on the noise is gone so until I know after everyone has had these revised latches on for a few thousand miles with no problems I will just keep replacing the tape. Sorry I am just not convinces Chrysler has came up with a real fix for this.

Default door noise

my doors rattle like crazy too!

the dealership guy rode around with me (i let him drive) and was like holy S*** when we hit the first bump. they figured out that the noise comes from the hinges. they let me test another JK and the hinges are tight with no noise.

here is what the tech guy did to test the hinges:
1. open door
2. push on the top back of the door

if the door moves and jeep does not = bad, rattles while driving, causes boils and gnashing of teeth

if the whole jeep moves = good, no rattle, jeep drivable in off-roading bliss

the deal said they will replace my door hinges on all four doors when i am willing to give up the jeep for a day

i hope this helps

I have a slight rattle...but it miraculously disappears when I put on my tube doors or when I turn the music up...my dealer can't figure it out
