There is a TSB service bulletin on project jk about "cracked windshield". It explains how to test and see if it was an impact crack or from the molding.
unless you saw something hit it ...... otherwise check it out.

Me too, but sounds like you're finding better prices. I only got one quote thus far for $350 installed. Have you found anywhere that has non-Mopar glass?

Unfortunately, mine was due to a &%$#$ truck and my wife didn't bother to get a license plate or anything! I haven't even got to spend that much in mods yet!

Insurance.....

If it was a rock then, it wouldn't matter if she got the plate # of the truck, he isn't liable.

....Now, if he were carrying a truck load of rocks? It might be different....I think?

I had to replace my YJ windshield 3-4 times in 5 yrs from rocks. One was almost the size of a baseball. It almost made it all the way through the windshield. Freeways are dangerous.

Yeah but why would anyone on earth make a claim for something less than their deductable. You're going to pay for it anyway, why claim it? Unless you're lucky enough to have no deductable, but even then...why put a claim on your account? Not worth it...

Yeah this was one of those damit chips. i heard the rock hit it but didn't see the crack from inside the window so i thought ok i am good. it took me cleaning my windshield to notice it on the lower driverside in the black part of the window. just set the appointment 215 total with tax. not too bad but after talking to a few tj guys i should have just left it alone until it became a real problem. seems to happen allot to jeepers. oh well i am going to have to just put on a larger lift to put me higher in the air and the stones will go under the jeep.

If its in the black, why not just have it drilled and filled? If rock hits and stars are so common, wait till next time to replace it.

I'm usually not a cheap bastard, but I have a chip that I had drilled and filled in my 03 GJC windshield. From the drivers seat it is behind the rearview mirror, so my wife has to look at it.
