Here's the deal the way I see it. First off, the trajectory angle is more perpendicular because of the angle of the windshield. It's not that Jeep puts cheap glass on there vehicles, it's simple physics. If you want bullet proof glass, have bullet proof glass installed, it's not that expensive. I have had the wife's 4 door windshield replace due to a piece of iron from a scrap hauler becoming a trajectory after falling off the truck she was following ($219.00 installed). A fix for that is, pay attention to who you are following. Following behind a truck is just asking to get hit, whether it be road debris or unsecured cargo, use your head and don't raise the chance factor by following and 18 wheeler. And by all means stay away from the rock hauler. And here's a tip for you Jeep rookies that like to run with the top down. If you see a cattle truck do not follow behind it or pull along side at a light. Cattle going to market or coming from the feed lot tend to get the scours, and their trajectories are not pleasant.

And on another note, why is it people from California complain on how much things cost there? Everything is higher in CA. California Raisins cost more in California than everywhere else. My sister is a Realtor and live in Woodland Hills CA, she's the same way. I tell her all the time "If you want lower prices, MOVE!" Simple as that.
