factory remote start
I believe the difference is that a 2way sends back a signal to let you know the vehical has started.........say you are in the mall and can't actually see your car.......oops there goes a kitten.......this will tell you it has started. The 2 way being like a pager. It's nice if it is a alarm as well because it will buzz in your pocket even thou you can't hear the alarm.
I am currently dealing on a new JK unlimited, I too want the remote start and will go with a dealer installed one ($599 installed) so I dont void my warranty....maybe check into that. As far as range and 2 way options go, I had an $800 one installed on my last Grand Cherokee Ltd and the 2 way part never worked half the time and the range was ALOT less that I was told it could do. Regardless, I never started it if I couldnt see it anyways so it was never really an issue.
would really look at getting one aftermarket. i had one put in my wifes 06 navigator and for a just over $200. she call use her cell phone to start her truck from anywhere.... i can't imagine the jeep sentry any more robust than a lincoln.
Starting my Jeep with my cell phone!! wow... what's next, I use the buttons on my cell phone to drive it to my front door? Gee, perhaps I can even get it to drive to the Post Office for me and get my mail!!!

The Mopar Remote start kits have a wire running to coil for a tach signal, a wire to the brake switch, and a wire running to parking light source. There is a hood switch wire and a horn wire if you want to connect them. The ignition switch plugs into the installation kit wiring. The installation kit also includes the wiring to bypass the Sentry Key by running a wire from the module to the wireless control module at the ignition switch.
There are only three splices, run the antenna wire, run the SKREEM wire, ground the hood switch with the harness ground, and connect the ignition switch. After the wiring is finished you must first program the tach signal then program the Sentry Keys.

The Mopar unit would be nice if it only was more up to date. The fact that is is pretty much plug-n-play is great. But it's range sucks (they claim 800 ft while the other after market ones are up to a mile now) and their two-way is only a simple two color LED and it is even more expensive...
i like the factory remote start execpt for the poor range. i wasent going to put one on the JK but i think i am now, its getting cold and my last jeep had one and i got used to it. the sentry key can be bypassed by DEi part#556uw. if i end up doing this ill post up what i find out
