Just got mine back from the dealership. Replaced the gas tank under warranty with 1500 miles to spare. First fill up no issues.

Here are the pics of the tank with everything that can be removed has been removed. So for those that have been told that they can change a check valve on the tank have been lied to. Congrats that you got it taken care of before they got the best of you. I have seen a lot more of these gas tanks at the dealership but I don't believe that they are coming out of JK's they are coming out of Durangos and Aspens, which after taking a look at it seems to be the same tankas mine.

mine flows over every time. I forget who but someone on here said to pull out the nozzle and count to five every five gallons and its worked for me last time. I guess it stabilizes the pressure.

I stop every five gallons for the first 15 gallons. Then I stop every gallon or so, going real slow. I still get some splillage once in a while but nothing like the waterfall I used to get. I think the only way to beat it is not to fill up. Mine is out of warrenty.

Mine overfills also. Does not matter what I do. Pump slow or fast, it spits fuel at me on every fill. I have learned to stand clear. My Jeeps out of warranty and know I am stuck with this until I can afford a new tank.

I had the same fillup overflow issue. Dealer replaced my tank today. First fillup was good, no overspill. I had on it set on full throttle.

Mine did this last winter and again this winte. It seems to only do it when it's cold out, though I guess I'll find out one way or another in another month or so as it warms up here. I have an 07. It didn't happen last summer at all.

I'm well out of any warantee, so if it continues into spring/summer I'll have to see what options I have with regards to replacement.

So far I have 73+k miles on mine. This is so far the only "major" problem I've had. Knock on wood...

I think slow or fast doesn't matter because I tried that too and it overflowed. But if you take it out for a few seconds every five gallons it might work. It has for me the last 3 times now.

Default Tank Ordered

My 07 has started doing this, too. Almost out of warranty, so we took it to the dealer tday and they quickly odered a new tank with no hassle. Tank is on back order and could take up to 2 months to get. Worth the wait!
