Just a craazy thought on how to get stuff back out more easily than a dash dissassembly..........
Fold the windscreen down?
Looking at it I suspect that may make a bigger gap to get a hand or arm down, anyone tried it?
Also what's the deal with when you fold the bonnet fully open you have the bonnet paint resting against the windscreen frame paint, shouldn't there be a bumper pad or something?

Lucky for me I only lost a parking ticket. Ended up having to pay it anyway.

You mean you can't stick your fingers "down to the knuckles" between the windshield and the dashboard plastic by your glovebox?? That's where the mouth of doom takes most of it's victims...Let us know, I'm curious if it has been fixed in the '09s.

...hmmm

Nope, its hard to even get a piece of paper between them. There are quiet a few changes to the 09's but I didnt know that this was one of them and it wanst on the list that was given to me but it could of been a last minute change by Chrysler , here are some i did know about though and was given a list by a friend (Parts Manager) at the dealership hence my reason for waiting for a 09

- A removable change tray in the center console

- A little cargo net in front of the shifter

- Improved tops

- Redesigned set of freedom panels, leak problems resolved (front latch moved forward, hooks under the windshield tie-down)

- A redesigned (metal?) headliner for the soft top

-Updated hood latches that solve the hood bounce that some have

-Updated software programing for automatic transmissions

- All previous TSB’s added from the 2007-2008 JK’s

-Rear tow hook is now compatible with the receiver

-New center dome lamp with switchable directional lighting

-Larger sun visor

-Hill Start Assist- Standard on all models

-Trailer Sway Control is now included with the Trailer Tow Group

-Power group now standard on Sahara

-Alarm now standard on Sahara

-Multiple color changes

-Updated ECM for smoother throttle response

.

Does anyone have an update on this improved automatic transmission software. Can it be updated to 08s?

so my dash ate my GF cell phone today....

what a PITA to get it out. i think ill be doing the "$1.67" dash upgrade in the immediate future. i really think the engineers that designed it thought it would be worth a good laugh or two to produce the dash with that "defect" in it!!!!

either way, after a good 20 min i managed to get the phone out with minimal scratching of the cheap ass plastic
