Luckily all I have lost were some business cards of reaitors when I was house shopping. But those guys are a dime a dozen so no problems here!

I did listen to car talk on NPR one morning and heard about a guy that lost his wedding ring down there. The guys hosting told the caller that they should just buy a new ring....

Is the gap there so the windshield has clearance when you try to lie it down?

ummm...this is how - prepare for the scary pictures below. You have to drop the windshield and with the right tools (pictured below) you "should" be able to get most stuff out - IF you're lucky. I was...I finally got my CB antenna out and my socket! I used the magnet for the antenna and that spring screw grabbing thing to get the socket out! My Jeep wasn't happy - I'm going to Loews to get that foam pipe to forever silence the mouth of my Jeep! No more goodies for you!

All in all, it took about 20 minutes for me to knock the windshield down as I was trying to be careful not to scratch anything as well as the fact that I was ScArEd doing this to a NEW JK!! Oh well...what's done is done...I got my stuff back from the Jaws of Death!

THE CARNAGE ALL FOR A SOCKET AND CB HAND-HELD ANTENNA!!

THE MOUTH THAT EATETH ALL - BEWARE!!!

YOU'RE BEST FRIENDS..THE RECOVERY TOOLS I USED!

You won't believe this! I was at Home Depot today on a business stop and while in the parking lot thought I would pull that square plug up on top of the dash to see what it was for. Well, it popped up in the air and right down that slot

I took my flashlight and found it just under the defroster outlet on the driver's side but after getting my knuckles stuck in there yesterday, decided to take another approach.

Then I went into the store and came out with a mechanical finger like the one pictured above. The piece was there but I did not dare drive the Jeep for fear of it being swallowed even deeper.

After getting the tool in the slot, I opened the window and shut the door so I could work the tool while looking through the windshield. Got lucky and nailed it on the first try.

The pipe insulation is now in place and looks like it was made for the job. If you do this, get the one without the glue strip so that you can move it around a bit to get a good fit.

How did you make that seal. IS that with the foam for insulation on piping???

I did the pipe insulation on the 2nd day I got it because I read enough post like this. Money well spent. (and very little I might add).
