I actually notice it on the first time that I have installed the soft top.
How else will you strap the rear window?!!!

These straps are a PIA. In my old TJ one end of them was permanently attached to the back of the bar up top, so all you had to do was roll up the window and pull the strap down, wrap it around the now rolled up back window and snap the free end onto the bar. Now they make you roll up the window and either hold the window up with one hand as you attempt to fit these loose straps over the end of the window, then struggle to find the snap on the back of the top bar, leaving the straps attached does not work as the straps themselves do not seem to stretch far enough, plus as someone noted, they are going to get stretched out not long after if you try this way......This is the biggest complaint I have with my new 2011 sport, why couldn't they have just left the old system alone.........
I'm going to try the "dog collar" advice, seems like it could work......!

Yup!

Oh, and I leave them snapped to the top at all times. In fact, another use for them is to hook the bar into them (unzip about half way up each side, and just fold window back and up in half). I do this to allow the wind to flow while the Sunrider is open as per the owner's manual, or so make it easy to load a few items into the back. I've rolled it up a few times like we've been talking about, but it's really scratching the window that way.
