I used Fram for many, many years, but a couple of years ago read where they had changed and the quality has suffered. Now I run Mobil 1 Oil and Mobil 1 Oil Filters and change oil every 3,000 miles.

I know I am a noob and this is my firts post, but I felt I needed to reply. I have been using the hand tight method for 12 years now too with no probs.

I also use mobil 1 and mobil 1 filters from Wally World (Walmart).

Side note, if you cannot hand tighten a oil filter to the 17-25 foot pounds by hand, then you need to hit the gym anyways...

Will never use anything but the Mobil-1 M1-209 with Mobil-1 synthetic.

Oh, by the way, the K&N filter might actually be a good idea for you because it has holes in the end for safety wiring. That way when your hand tightened oil filter vibrates loose it will be dangling from the wire and you can screw it back on.
Or a company that specializes in this field A.K.A. Quakerstate????

Once the oil filter gasket first contacts the engine, tighten the oil filter according to the directions for your application (usually found on the new filter box), preferably by hand. Generally, this is 3/4 to 1 full turn after the filter gasket contacts the engine

Jeep recommends 5w-20 so thats what you should use or something very close. Owners manual page 357. Mobil-1 Extended Performance in 5w-20.

First, I've always hand tightened, and never had a problem. However, whatever gorilla at the plant who put the Mopar one on mine from the factory must have Popeye shaped forearms if he did. Plus, because it was a new size, my filter wrench couldn't get it, so I ended up using the screwdriver method (not recommended).
