Just pu the top down with your other hand. Make sure that their is nothing stopping the top from going into place ie other latch, outside of the door trim, twisted straps( back half of the top). Make sure that it's installed correctly, and install the top in the correct order.

I usually close the latches half way before attaching the flaps in the back. After back flaps are in, close latches all the way. Never fails me.

X2 Make sure that the clips are fully open that is what got me. That pushes the hook out some. Once you have them just hooked don't tighten them down until you have the back flaps attached.

TIP:: After you have the header hooks locked down check the outside where the windshield and top come together. If you see some of the rubber seal from the windshield sort of bumping up, then push it down with your finger. If you don't you will hear a whistle at about 30 mph.

Good Luck

I had the same issue when I installed my top the first time. Like I said undo the flaps then make sure you pull the header handles all the way back so that the hooks move all the way forward so you can reach. Next redo the rear flaps then close the header handles.
Good luck

The most common problem I think is the rear pieces called the sail flaps

Flip those up and out of the way

Bring the whole top up and into place, see if the main clamps are close enough to hook onto the windshield

There are many videos on YouTube that go through it step by step...

Even after doing it probably 100 times sometimes it just doesn't want to just go up

Other then the bad headlights, the soft top comes in a close second for things that could use improvement...

If its your first time it helps if it's warm out

And yell, lots of yelling for that first time.

First time I swap tops every year, I get the soft top stretched out for a while but not latched. The sun is our friend!
