Default Rear backup camera location

Hey everyone I just got a rear backup cam and I am looking for some ideas on where to put it. So far the best place seems to be on the bumper over the hitch. I have a spare tire cover so I can't mount it there. Any ideas ???

I put mine on the drivers side of the rear hitch on the underside of the bumper. (When viewed from behind the Jeep) It provided a good picture, but after this last winter I must have gotten some salt water inside the camera lens and now everything looks blurry as heck. I was using the minicam 221 with a lockpick. I have just purchased a replacement camera for $15 from amazon. I suggest mounting it on the passengers side of the hitch under the bumper if you can. Makes for seeing while parallel parking a bit better. Make sure you get a good waterproof camera, or think about mounting it above the bumper somewhere, so you don't have any issues. I also have a Solstice with a backup camera mounted near the trunk. No issues and it has a perfectly clear picture.

I have also heard of people getting a rubber hitch cover and drilling a hole in that to surface mount the camera to.

I have this camera:
Crimestopper SV-6703 Ultra Small Flush Mount CMOS Color Camera

I mounted right in the center of the rear bumper - works great and you can barely even see it.

I don't have a mygig - I have a Pioneer Avic nav unit.

All backup cameras are basically universal - they have a power, ground, and a single RCA video output.
