Removing the Doors - No bolt?
Noobie question.....
...I am trying to remove my doors for the first time and I have read on here that I need a T50 torx to do so, but when I look under the hinge, I don't see a T50 bolt to remove! I suspected that maybe it was already removed, so I tried just lifting it with a bit of force, but no luck. Can someone look at the pic I've attached and tell me if that's what it looks like after the bolt has been removed?
Argh!

yupp. you sir, are missing a bolt. If you bought the jeep used, its possible the last owner lost the bolts or just neglected to put them back on. How many bolts are missing? When the bolts are out it does take a little bit of force do get the doors off the hinges but youll get the hang of it.
The Nut has been removed(look for ziplock bag somewhere in jeep). Going to take some working to get them to give way. They can be a pain if they have sat for awhile. Little WD and work the door back and forth to get it in.
If the doors have never been taken off, or have not been taken off in a long time, it is just going to take some work to get them off.
As was mentioned above, spray some WD40, and work at it...they will eventually break free. If you can get another person to give you a hand...that might help too simply to get some additional brute force going.
When putting them back on, spraying some lithium grease in hinge before putting the door back on will help make the next time a lot easier.

I would recommend having someone help you the first time. Make sure you have the wire disconnected and the strap removed. nothing like getting it off the hinges and realizing you are still attached. The doors can be a little awkward and difficult to get a good handhold on. One last thing, be careful with the limiting strap removed or you will become a member of the "dimple mod" group.

If u r the first owner of the jeep, I would be concerned that someone tried to steal ur doors. If u r 2nd owner, than the easiest explanation is prior owner never reinstalled. I have had mine out since the first week I bought it. no need for the bolts, gravity holds door in fine.
Also, don't have keys or whatever in the pocket that will rub against the door once you carry it. And, if you can't pull it up out of the hinges, get out a jack and a black of wood and gently jack up at the door bottom to lift the door while your helper is at the ready to take the load of the door.
X2 AGREED ..

maybe it's just me but if I don't have my doors open enough they don't come off very easily... so try taking them off when they are at least open to the point like you were going to get in it...
