Some areas appear OK but I just went to try to wipe off the dirt and dust from this past weekend and low and behold aarrgghh! several scratches that I'm guessing are from fingernails, rings, oh who knows - the wind!

Has anyone tried any kind of solvent / cleaner / protectant that they've found has worked?

Have a feeling that most solvents will immediately dissolve this stuff - had no idea it was THAT mushy. Most appears to be fairly good but the areas on the doors, and especially the sides around the radio console are about like butter!

Anyone gotten anywhere with the petitions or warranty?

Thanks

I'll vouch for this tactic.

I had my dealer install a Sirius radio in my JK, and they scratched the interior plastic putting it in (the lighter gray plastic you mention).

I had my dealer install tow hooks on my JK (hey, I don't have a driveway!), and they scratched the front bumper pretty badly.

Heck, I had my dealer rotate my tires and they broke 4 of the 5 plastic hubs on the steel wheels!

After taking it back to them and bitching, they had their "plastic repair guy" come by and fix all my scratches for me. No, I did not get a new dash from them-- they repaired the plastic & removed the scratches, even from the mushy soft passenger airbag cover!

Best of all, no charge since it was their errors that caused the scratches (they fixed way more scratches than they caused though!)

Default Plastic repair

Any chance you were able to talk to them about what they used or how they did it.

I'd be much more accepting if they either provided a kit for us to perform the repairs or at bare minimum - gave some instructions (ok drawings from what I've seen so far) on what can be done.

it seems like there are a bunch of preset response and all the CS rep does is push a buttons... which makes the paragraphs that a the most related but yet so ambiguous...

we need a spamming email system that does something similar... incessantly... forever... and just throws in slight variations to the complaints and sender names. That would be fun.
