Agree - my Feb build's plastic seems fine, at least on par w/ my 05 Grand Cherokee (and seems superior to our outgoing Explorer).

Just curious, when you say Feb 07 build, you mean an actual build date in Feb 07 or a purchase date? Are typical builds moving from building to the lots that quickly?

Just for the record - I've been saying for a month that my interior plastic is not the same as the "butter soft" variety that early-build JK owners have complained about... and I was getting some sh1t about it on another thread from some newbie who doesn't even have his yet, and is JK-bashing based solely on "his friend's JK." <sniff> <sniff> I smell an H3 owner.

I think that all of the early-build JK owners, who promptly banded together and complained directly to DCX, deserve a round of applause. While I have no proof, it's my belief that they're using a different quality of plastic now - and I'm sure we have the complaining owners to thank for that. So, THANK YOU.

My build was 2/9 (custom order).

Very much appreciate the early JK owners that complained and sounds like got some improvements made.

Now if there was only a way us "early" JK owners could get our dashes replaced that would be nice

I think DC should come out with an overlay kit (installed) at the very least!

Default Manufac. Date of 12/06 and my plastic scratches.

Manufac. date of 12/06, purchased it on 12/22/06.

I have scratches all over. The plastic clip on my Ipod case scratched all around the shifter when I put it when Iwas driving around. I reached up to turn the sterio nob and my fingernail scratched the plastic. When I installed my stereo, I put towels in between plastic pieces, hahaha, that didn't help. I now have scratches all over the place from the plastic resting on the plastic. So, tip, if you have any work to be done in the dash or need to remove the dash, have a pro installation shop do it, so that way, when they scratch your dash, at least you will have a chance to go after them and get them to pay for your new dash!
