snow chains
I just carry chains. They do look like it will be very close without spacers. I do think spacers would eliminate the issue. I was all over the mountain this past weekend, stock 255/75/17 did great. No slipage not even once. It was very icy in number of spots and 6" - 8" of snow on ice in others. Needless to say i was reallyl impressed with the JK.
I live in the mountains of Southern California and so I do have to deal with snow come winter. Around here restrictions are quickly put in place when it snows. Roads often close. Once the road is open the restriction is usually R2 until they get the roads cleared and it has stopped snowing.
R1 Must use chains except 4wd with snow tires.
R2 Must use chains – 4wd must carry chains.
R3 Everyone must use chains.
If restrictions are R2, they will turn you around, even if you have 4wd, if you aren’t carrying chains.

I am fairly certain that Colorado makes a legal distinction between snow chains, cable chains, and other devices. If the sign says snow chains it has to be real chain.
I used my Spikes Spider yesterday on my 33X12.5 15’s front only. The road was up hill about 10 Degrees slope, snow packed with ice under. I towed a full size pickup up that hill (Low 4X4) with now problems.
