The first of many training classes yet to come. But my military days are some of the best days in my life and some of the not so goods too. But I'm glad I did it and for all the bennies you get after you've done it.

I loved my time in.. but didn't like the dumb assh*les that you had to take orders from.. So I got out.. (Combat field medic). I really wished I had the foresight to go in the CG.. (You rarely see any of them getting killed by the way) and I would have been on the water in small boats.. Oh say a 200 feet or less..!!

I dont know about the Navy, but for me it would have furthered my career as far as rank, not necesary to the specific job, but looks good on the resume. i had no interest in it. For us it wasnt an "X" amount of money per head, but quota's did matter. I dont personally know any recruiters to ask. There might be someone around here that knows more about it though.

benefits?
discount tickets to the bullshitter's ball & you get free qtips to get the crap out of your ears from having your head up your backend.

You have to have alot of time in before you can become a recruiter. You need to go in learn a trade find out what the service is all about and stop talking about this early out crap. If you keep talking about early out, then I for one do not want you in if you want to give up on your Country so frickin quick. Four years is not that long. Crap you get alot given to you for free while your in and after you get out. So if you don't want to be in it for the full time then stay out. Going in is to service your Country and get some kind of a career started. Not going in and running out as soon as you don't like it anymore. If you are really serious about joining then ask all the question you want, but if you are just looking to grab some free stuff and get out without serving or doing as little as possible then don't waist our tax money. You don't get anything for nothing. I'm 52 years old now and I'm still getting bennies for being in the military back in the 70's. It's great, but you have to put in the time to get those bennies. So think about it. Please don't waist everyones time, if your just looking for the easy out. The vets. on this site are trying to help you. If you are going to abuse us, then I for one am not going to help you. It's a waist of my time. So what is it going to be there bucko?

Ditto what Rupe said.

If you want early out. Talk to the Army, get a two year hitch and peel potatoes 14 hours a day.

Unless you want to get hospitalized, get dead, or go to jail, nobody really gets an early out.

If you want to do it. do your four and leave, no shame in that at all. But running away from something you start before it is done says alot about your character. Think about it. A LOT. It will come back to haunt you, i guarantee it. It always does.

To my knowledge, there is no easy way out of any branch of the service except what i said above, and i dont count those as easy. There is always a price for what you do. They invest a great deal of time and money to train you, why would they let you out before you fulfilled your commitment to them to repay that debt with your service?

Thank you AZCA. I'm willing to help anyone as long as it is for the Right purpose. But as most Vets. (I say most not all) feel, if you are not going in for the right reasons (possibly dieing for your Country) then you are letting down alot of service men and women. Those that are serving and those that have already served. Not to mention the ones that died or were POW's and MIA's. So like I said, I will be more then happy to answer questions to help out a youngster that is thinking about going in. But not ones that are trying to get around really doing what the service is really all about. So take a few days and think about it. You are risking your life joining the military and if you are not willing to do that then forget about going in and find a nice safe job like watching tv and wishing you had done something more with your life. OH crap I'm sounding like a recuiter. later
