Shotgun for home defense.

You guys think you live in a fucking war zone or something? I can load my bird gun full in about 4 seconds. Reloading with ducks on the wing teaches some fast gun skills. Who needs an AK47 or AR15 for home defense. Come on guys, life isnt a video game. Youre not playing Call of Duty.
Gather the family all into the back bedroom, put them all in the closet or in a corner and settle down where you have a good angle on the door but if someone sends a round through the door it wont hit you.

I'll still take my 870 over the BMFG2000.... but can i opt for the depleted uranium rounds for it? the sabots are ok, but I hear them hot little bb's pack one muther f'er of a punch

Get shotgun and ammo-How many seconds?
Load gun- 4 seconds
Gather family into bedroom,settle down, get angle on door-How many seconds?
Please add these up for a total time. Then run from any entry into your house to your bedroom and see how many seconds that was. Add 5 seconds for breaking window, door kick, etc.
Just trying to put things in perspective. Everyone will do things thier own way, and I am not trying to sway you.
