2013 CB Mount
I installed the CB and Antenna this past week. I located the CB in the center console and ran the power cord up through the bottom. I used a 2 foot antenna and mounted the antenna on the rear. It barely comes above the roof. I also used a quick disconnect so it can be removed easy if necessary. I figured no more than I will use it, that inside the console will work fine for me.

hopefully an easy question: can i just run a positive line from the battery into the cabin and splice it with the CB? How do I ground it then? Or better to run a pos and neg together from the battery? do i need to disconnect the battery to do this? or just connect the neg first at the CB side?

thanks. the cb has an inline fuse already. do I need to ground the cb first before connecting the positive?
The reason for the fuse is to protect the Jeep, not your CB. You should install an additional fuse on the positive lead as close to the battery as possible. Imagine, for example, if something were to pinch the non-fused part of the positive lead to ground. Plenty of vehicle fires have started this way. Just trying to help protect your investment.

Here's an option for you. You can save money and make it yourself or be lazy and buy it from Arizona Rocky Road.

There's enough room to get to the latches, and if you buy the mount, they also include wire and fuse to connect battery to mount. Here's where I have my antenna.
