Can someone tell me why an antenna bracket is $30!?

Default Can someone tell me why an antenna bracket is $30!?

Want to get a bracket for an antenna upgrade for my 2011 jk, come to find the damn prefab brackets are $30! C'mon, really? Any suggestions on how to make one? (i'm refering to the spare tire bracket) so frustrated!

You could try and find a fabricator that will make one for you , but IMO it is just easier to just spend the $30 and buy that one.

also check on some cb radio web sites they have more than one type of bracket for upgraded antennas

My first iteration was a hole in the OEM tire carrier, after I lopped off the third brake light:


With the aftermarket tire carrier, a piece of aluminum angle does the trick:


Recently on here, I saw where a guy took a flat mount and screwed it to the top door hinge after removing the plastic cover.

Take a look around the CB area of a truck stop for ideas. I think $30 is stupid, too.

A simple piece of metal I had in the garage and a few small bends and presto... The key for my antenna was to get it up away from the side of any metal. It looks factory

I used a mount made for a big rig mirror. It bolted right around my AEV tire carrier. Works great. I'll see if I can find a link. It was a few bucks on Amazon.
