Hello!
I've seen some people purchasing a separate external speaker. Is it necessary for the Cobra 75? doesn't it comes with an integrated speaker?

Or you can get an aux cable and plug the CB audio directly into the AUX outlet for full surround sound !!! There is a thread here somewhere with the required plug/adapter. I've done it and it sounds great !!!

EDIT: here's the threads:
Radio speakers for CB??
Use of AUX input for CB

Spent Saturday installing my Cobra 75 CB kit just because this thread made it look so easy and it was. Learned a ton of stuff about how easy it is to tear the dash apart. This is a great forum. Now I just need to get back on the trails.

That's one good temporary alternative... because then u can't use your radio for music

I think I remember someone on here finding a workaround for that and getting the best of both worlds ... I'll look for the thread

EDIT: Not exactly the radio but an IPod...close enough. I don't listen to music on the trail anyway so the CB in the AUX input works for me. Here's the thread ...
Aux Port mod to Run Both Ipod & Cobra CB

When i commented back i was actually thinking on FM radio, but i was forgetting that here (maybe in the US is the same) we don't have a lot of radio/cellphone signal out in the trails, so yeah, that's one great option, because most of the time music comes from our ipods/iphones... the thing is that i use this type of Y adapter all the time, but never thought of using it there.

Just found my AUX cable and tried it with the CB. If I don't want to listen to music while I wheel I'll use it, but I think I'm going to try and figure out another speaker to use instead on the hand set speaker.

Tested the CB with a SWR meter and every channel was between 1.1 and 1.4. I'm ready to take calls.

that's a nice install. I have a tweaked cobra 25 that I'm rather fond of, and I live in NYC so theft is a problem. I went with a tuffy center console and shoehorned the 25 in there. I use a little radio shack speaker screwed to the soundbar, and it works well. Drawback to the tuffy is that you have to open the armrest to manipulate the radio, but the upside is the security. I like that cobra 75's size, but I like the 25 performance.

One more thank you for the thread. Got everything installed and just waiting for my 75 to be delivered this week.
