Since I have a Uniden 520 I used this bracket from Quadratec. Quadratec Exclusive JK-CBMD - CB Mounting Bracket for 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with Factory Center Console - Quadratec

I mounted it on the passenger side and hung the mic off the side of the center console. The radio is small and does not get in the way.

Did you make a whole mount from scratch or did you add some sort of extension to the current one. I'm thinking about doing the latter.

I used the bracket it came with but used L brackets other metal pieces I had laying around...the dash holds the weight of the unit, while the brackets keeps it from moving around.

Thought I'd show this bracket I made so I didn't have to drill holes installing my Cobra 19. Under the plastic console there is a bolt you can use for mounting this bracket.

Very nice. I was thinking about doing something like that. Now I know it is doable.

Ok here's a question... Why do some members put external speakers? I can hook up mine to the aux hole on my factory radio.

I use an external speaker so I can listen to the radio, sat, disk, etc. and the CB. The aux input is fine if you only want to hear the CB.
