Pros and Cons of the 75 please.

Thanks
The cobra 75 has to have a small box mounted that usually goes under the glove-box. There is a midland 75 that is more portable. I break it down more here LINK->https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-c...7/#post3070835

I wasn't super digging the idea before I did mine. The speaker is set up on most CB's on the bottom which is a plus for up there. Also If you drop the mic it is pretty easy to grab. If your worried about the mic cable being in the way you can sort of tuck it up and lock it in place when your not using it.

This isn't my jeep but you can see what I'm talking about

Any advantages or caveats using either option?
I went up the roll bar. It was much easier then going along the ground.

I tried the 1/4" clamps and they didn't work for me though I could see how you could bend them to work. I had a small bit of play in mine (3/8"). I found that if you don't put the L brace sandwich in the clamps then you get a tighter fit. I'm glad you got it to work in the end that's all that matters.

Thanks... I found the key to it is using a magnet to hold the nut while you fish the fingers in to get it started and threaded on. I had one of those tools that extends with the magnet on the end... also helps when you drop something into the fender. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. GRIN

Try searching for "CB" on quadratec... it came up with a few CB related items to include a couple of antenna mounts etc...
