Has anyone kept the infinity sub and used a an after market at the same time? I wonder about the bass link or Bazooka tube under the rear seat on the four doors??? Or someone mentioned the rear well in the back, have yall seen this done yet? I kinda like things stealthy and don't want to comprmise the space in my cargo area.

To wire your amp you will want to run the power wire directly from the battery terminal to the amp itself. You will want to place a properly rated fuse inline and as close to the battery connection as possible. Your ground wire should be the same gauge as your power wire but no longer then 2 ft. Make sure you connect the ground wire to bare metal or you run the risk of ground loops or noise interference. How you route the cable is up to you, just make sure that you secure it in a fashion that doesn't interfere with your daily usage of the Jeep or is at risk of damaging the wire insulation which could result in shorts or fires. That's it for wiring the power aspect of the Bass Link amp.

As far as hooking up the audio portion of the amp you can splice right into the existing speaker wires using wire taps. Once you've got the wire taps in place you have two options: 1) You can take those wires directly to the Bass Link and connect via the high level inputs or 2) you can purchase a high to low level converter ($20) and run standard RCAs to your Bass Link. Either way, your Bass Link is now operational and satisfying your low end audio needs.

That's the same kit I used when I had it installed in my wife's Liberty....not a bad deal for $17. BTW, the fuse comes with the kit mentioned here so no worries there.

since my dad doesn't want me messing with the speaker wires and such in a new jeep he's looking out for me and wants me to have it professionally installed. for the price of instal i think i should give them something to instal rather than just connect a few wires. i have two 10" subs around here, 8ohm. i measure the back compartment(the little one) and it's sometihng like 21" long 7" wide and 4 and 3/4" deep. i can slide the lid out and leave that somewhere and set my two 10" subs mounted threw a board that covers the missing carpet from the lid and so the backs of the subs are down into the well, like a box. and it will fit but i'm not sure if it will sound and look nice, i would mount two stainless bars across it so i could still put stuff in the back with the basslink in there as well, they are older Fisher subs rated for 75w or another pair of them rated at 80w. also we have an Eclipse Headunit and an EA4000 amplifier, i'll go and have them install tomorrow but what should i do here? i'm thinking the walmart kit and just the basslink the rest will come with the head later

I wouldn't do it...just stick to the Basslink, it will sound better without that other stuff I bet. Those are home speakers right? I'm not sure how that would sound....

me either,...... however the secret compartment could be used as a box and mount some subs in IF i didn't catch that awesome deal on the link. i will eventually upgrade the speakers and put in a Pioneer D3 so i wonder if it would hurt to have them instsll the eclipse amp? would it be compatible with the stock head and i don't think it would be worth connecting it to the stock speakers, i think it would go under the passenger seat if i had that thrown in, it alredy has a kit so i wouldn't worry about that.. i probably just need to settle down and hook up this basslink first before i get all crazy with it.. i'll worry about evrything else when i get a new head unit

Now you're talking'....LOL

Using the cargo tub as a box might not be a bad idea, but you'd have to figure out a way to seal it airtight and make sure you check the airspace needed for the subs you use so that it would sound right. If I were you, I'd install the Basslink and see how you like it with just that....I've had many different systems in different vehicles and the Basslink with just the factory speakers/head unit is plenty good enough for me.

going tomorrow to get the basslink installed i'll post some pics afterwards, only one more question! i have a small light and the remote. where should i mount them? i really don't want to end up having unnecessary holes around in noticable places, so i thought on the back of the consel above the drink holders. vertically so it's in arms reach to adjust and it's hidden.. sorta

a small light? I'm not sure I remember that one... As for the remote knob, your guess is as good as mine....I didn't install mine, I just adjust it with the HU bass setting or on the Basslink itself. I haven't figured out a good enough spot to mount mine yet.

Yeah you can certainly live without that remote if you don't want to cutting into things, but I guess it is nice to have. I"m pretty sure you'll be happy with the bass-link, just don't let the install shop over complicate things on you.

The guys at the place I bought mine kept insisting I needed to buy this additional $70 thing to convert some signal or something dumb like that. Good thing I found this forum and knew better!

I didn't get a light either...

The amp will probably not be able to handle them all that well. Car speakers are usually 4 ohm. DVC subs can be wired to go down to 2 ohm.
