It is indeed easier to wheel with an auto.

I still drive a stick.

Another vote for manual ... test drove automatics but I prefer a manual in any vehicle I own. The downhill assist feature in my Rubicon took a little getting used to, but overall it's a great feature in those off-roading situations where I am staring at the sky. Probably can't go wrong either way so choose what you feel more comfortable with.

I've only owned manuals in the past and this is my first auto and love it. Wheeling auto is awesome. I run with manuals and remember the stalls on hill climbs in precarious situations. Nothing worse than stalling out looking at the sky. My auto just goes and conquers. No more stalls ever.

Autos are nice fore sure. I've always had manuals in all my jeeps...and there have been a few. So this time I decided to treat myself and a real treat it is. Just love it...!!!

you will be too busy looking at the view to change gears....go with the auto....
dont understand why anyone would want a manual... but maybe im crazy....I like power steering and power brakes too!

Go with manual, especially if you plan on doin any lifts or axle mods in the future or if you plan on doing any rock crawling.
