I learned today that slow and steady is the way to go. Wasn't a river but a but a puddle about 2-3 ft deep and maybe 20 feet across. I went through it a few times slowly and had no problems but for some reason I decided to hit it at about 20mph and stalled out pretty bad. I gave it about 5 mins and tried to start it. It took a few times but eventually started. Blew a ton of steam out of the exhaust for about 30 seconds and ran perfect the rest of the day. Not sure if I splashed some water on the intake or what but it scared the hell out of me.

What I was wondering......a couple things......how did the guy that went first know that the ice ledge would either break or be able to climb over. Also......it's hard to tell, but it looks where you came from is pretty vertical? Meaning that it looks like you were pretty committed after you went down that hill to cross the river. Or could you have backed back up that thing? Would like to hear the whole story.....

I've been considering a snorkel lately...

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take for the seat covers to come back out of your colon?

I was the third guy across. The first guy drove up to the ice, broke a chunk off, let it drift down the river, then went for the next chunk. This picture is taken when I was coming back across, I had to be winched up the far bank. Unfortunately the rest of the group chickened out so we had to turn around and come right back across!

Lesson learned the hard way... " Oh ya dude, its only knee deep, trucks go through it all the time!"

Truck has never been the same since... Dont risk your brand new vehicle for a little water fun haha

The catalytic converter ended up being the problem. After cranking and cranking pressure kept building in the engine cause the exhaust was clogged with mud and that blew the head gasket. So I decided to have the engine rebuilt anyways cause it had 250,000 miles haha. Expensive mud hole
