Installed a snorkel last week and now that I'm looking at it. How do you prevent branches from snagging on it? I'm familiar with a cable from grill or grill guard to the roof rack, but how do you run the cable to protect the snorkel?

Here's some photos of the install.

Anyone have any experience with ARB SkyDome Ground Swag? I'm looking for a good alternative to a RTT.

Default Rear Spring Rate

Hey Doiron!

Last trip I bottomed out my stock suspension jk in the rear a few times on the freeway return trip. I realized it was because I had unloaded the gobi (more middle of the jeep) and put everything in the rear for better aerodynamics (so I could travel 10mph faster).

So now I'm thinking a lift is necessary instead of a big want. I know you use the OME rear when your loaded with the hard top but which spring rate? I've seen two different HD versions and I'm not sure which would be better.

On a different note I'm just getting into photography and was wondering what your favorite/most used lens?

Cheers,

RR

RR--San Diego? I was just there a few days ago! My folks live in Chula Vista. It's where I grew up. Have you ever driven Campo Road/Hwy 94 along the border? I drive that to and from CV all of the time. In fact, shot some video of it this time to put together on YouTube in the near future. Nothing off-road, but a nice little driver's road with good speed limits, windy turns and pretty scenery.

Anyway, your questions: I don't know the spring rate. I called David at Northridge and explained the problem and accepted what he sent. They are a little taller than the TF 2.5" spring (about an inch and a half or so), but work very nicely with the TF front springs and my extra heavy rear (look at my signature gear list to get an idea of why I'm so rear heavy). They have OME-618 on the bottom of the box, but I don't know if that's a part number or not.

Favorite lens? With a APS-C sensor (IOW, 1.6X crop factor, or not full frame), I shoot 90% of my shots with the 24-105mm f/4.0 Canon L series lens. This is not an inexpensive lens, and if you're just getting into photography, you probably don't want to spend that much. But, I'd say that something in the less expensive lines at approximately that range would do you well.

Hey, if you want to see some shots from SD, here's the photos from my trip. Nothing off road, but does include some scenery shots during sidetrips to Carlsbad Caverns and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

That's the stock bumper on the uk version http://www.jeep.co.uk/wrangler
They're not allowed to have the gap between the bumper and flares over there

huh, I've always wondered why a lot of the foreign JK's have the different front/rear bumpers I just figured they were for the Diesel JK's.
