If I were in your shoes, I'd be getting the hood. Don't have one myself, but I have seen one, totally awesome and not too in your face different.

Replace stock hood, and vent with Poison Spyder hood vent panel. Keep $500+ in your pocket for more vital mods.

I just pasted the link...should be in the post directly above. You can get just the tailgate rack or the combo with the wheel well pieces.

I know you you go on many great trips all over what sort of setup do you have for you cooking needs? do you just have many of those little back packing tanks or do you use one of those gasoline type stoves/ lanterns?

I do I do. Get it if you can. I love the look and the actual heat dissipation that I get from it as well as it fits my AEV Snorkel Nicely....

Right now I use the green one pound bottles--carry a couple of them--and a two burner Coleman stove. I also carry a homemade alcohol stove--just a little tiny thing made from an Altoid tin--which I use for just boiling water. However, I'm buying a better stove from the owner of Expedition Outfitters (he drives the white Defender and JKU you see in some of my videos). This is a super nice stove that comes with the Adventure Trailers. He just needs one with the gas inlet on the other side of the stove (which they also make) for his trailer build. So I'm buying his old one. I intend to get one of the five pound bottles, probably with that rack I mentioned above. And, like you, I intend to mount it outside the vehicle. Still have to figure that out. FYI: Not sure if it's state law of DOT reg, but I've heard you're not supposed to carry the tanks in unventilated and/or occupied vehicle compartments. Probably wouldn't ever be a problem, but better safe than sorry.
