This is a great thread! Just out of curiosity...how many of you with the exp. modded jeeps actually disconnect your sway bars? I know that the rock crawlers disconnect them all the time, but what about when you're just cruising through the back country? I've discovered the joys of airing down on washboard roads, but am wondering if I'm missing something by not disconnecting. I'm not going to be a rock crawler...my jk is my daily driver plus I like keeping my cars/jeeps in good condition. I mainly use it to explore the owyhee and sawtooth mountains here in idaho. Btw, I own a sport so I'd have to buy manual disconnects which I hear can be a pain in the buttocks.

I have a rubicon and I disconnect all the time I also have manual disconnects due to the Rubi electric disconnects not always being the most reliable on the market.

using your discos on rough washboard dirt roads will also help smooth out the ride, especially at speed, allows the axle to 'float' freely under the jeep. If I am driving any rough dirt roads, I disconnect for the smoother ride. Manual disco's are quick and painless once you've used them a couple times. Depending on what brand/type you go with of course

You shouldn't drive much faster then 25 mph with your sway bar disconnected though right?

That's what I've heard too. Probably impacts cornering at high speeds pretty badly.
