Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
our vehicles checked good. recharged our batteries and sat phones. and here we are on day 6 of the expedition hitting a world class heritage location.

Saud showing us the scale of this tomb.

As an engineer, I have mad respect for those people who hand carved those tombs by hand, with nothing but basic tools. goes to show that if there is will, there will be a way. absolutely stunning!

one of my favorite shots

remember, they just had basic tools for this. Wow just wow!!

Here's the living room area. a size of a house!

Saudi and rocks? Naaaawwww

Saudi flag

Alhejaz train. this train was built 200 years ago by the Othmans. nice to see it restored as original

and from there we move to volcanic rocks

find the flying object

Viewing the historic city of Al Ulla with a beautiful sunset

Day 7 and our last for this amazing trip

Hate the export bumpers! their all plastic

And so we say happy new year to all of you everywhere in the world. Wishing the world some much needed peace and love! Keep the Shinny side up and all four planted!

sorry about the long post. hope you enjoy it
Mark,
you need to get invited to visit. I've done this with a few friends in the past that wanted to check out this culture of the world. the procedure is not complicated. If you want to go offroad and experience the desert. I strongly recommend planning ahead and obviously taking a local. general expenses are cheap, so traveling within the country should be very doable for international wheelers.

Great post!
Last time I was loose in that part of the world was during Desert Storm, 1991... Man, it doesn't seem like that long ago. Was using a HMMWV for most of that little adventure. There's a lot of interesting things out there in the desert...
Thanks for posting.
