Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
The rack is very solid made and quality is top notch. Since it ties to the roll cage it can probably hold much more weight than you would ever want to put in it. Additionally since it does not tie into the front window frame, you can take off the hardtop panels (as you can see on the last picture)
A few drawbacks: Adds ~65lbs & you cannot easily take off the hardtop and run a soft top.
There are a few threads in this forum on how to paint the inside of the top..
Most of the hardware can be taken off with allen wrench and rest of hardware and windows you tape off.
Then I scoffed up the surface with a scotch pad and cleaned it with denatured alcohol.
Most people use Duplicolor bedliner and I tried it on a test piece.. I was very disappointed with the finish.. After at least 48 hours of drying time I could still make marks in finish with my nail. Maybe I did something wrong when applying it..
I used Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner instead.. It dries extremely hard and has fairly fine texture. Since the texture can be a little rough and hard to clean, I sprayed on a acrylic black satin on top to smooth out the finish.. (just remember to let the bedliner coat dry for 72 hours before applying the acrylic). I am very happy with the finish.

I finished installing my custom modified tire carrier swing arm and created wiring harness for 12V outlet and 3rd brake light.
Now I have 8 gallons extra capacity and flood light for while in camp.
Rotopax gas cans installed without Tire:

With spare tire installed and removable flood light pole in extended position:

Flood light pole in lowest position.

There is even room for the Trasharoo bag:

On the back side of the swing arm I have installed a weather proof dual 12V outlet to power the removable flood light and any other accessory:

I have been working on a custom Rotopax gas can carrier, using my existing tire carrier swing arm from my Expedition One rear bumper.
Just got the swing arm back from the powder coater and can finally install everything on the Jeep this weekend.
Here is how it will look (before powder coat):

Here is the parts back from powder coating (they matched the bumper color and texture perfectly):

Here is a video that shows the carrier in little more detail.
http://youtu.be/iEbEePN5d1Q As you can see in the video, the two 4 gallon Rotopax cans are locked down with a padlock (Which is keyed to the Jeep key).
The two hand knobs are for tightening down the cans, so the do not rattle/move while driving.
I also retained the original 3rd brake light, made provisions for mounting rear backup camera (middle/below tire), floodlight pole bracket & water proof dual 12V outlets.

Hi guys ...
New on here, but have been browsing for a while. I have had my JK for about a year now but no mods as I had to pay for my wedding, which took all the extra money I had.
Anyway I just got started with the mods:
-AEV 2.5" Lift
-Tera Flex Monster Adjustable Front Track Bar
-17" Mopar Steel Wheels
-35x12.5x17" Falken Wildpeak A/T Tires
-Teraflex HD Tire Carrier & Adjustable Mount
-Cobra 75 CB w/ Firestick Antenna
-Teraflex CB Antenna Mount
-Mopar Fuel Door
My next plans where bumpers and roof rack, but had a couple of questions.
1) Any bumper design that is better for overlanding then others?
2) I see there are roof racks with full side rails and then those that are flat, is one design better then the other? Coming from a FJ I had a Baja Rack with the full sides which was nice as you mount stuff to the side of the roof rack like a shovel and hi lift. However they have a new design that I like but it doesn't have the sides. Just wondering if Im going to miss them.
